Pumpkin Race 

The 30th Annual Pumpkin Race takes place Sunday, October 24 starting at noon on Manhattan Beach Boulevard just above the pier. Race a pumpkin and take part in the spectacle of the Manhattan Beach Pier area transformed into Pumpkin Race Land, where creativity runs wild and cheaters never prosper. Costumes are encouraged. Festivities begin at noon and races at 2 p.m. 

Friendship Walk

The 13th Annual Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk takes place October 24, with registration for the 3.5 mile walk beginning at 8 a.m. and opening ceremonies at 9 a.m. Since 2009, the event has raised more than $13 million in support of local schools and the Friendship Foundation, which assists children with special needs and their families through one-on-one peer mentoring and social recreational activities such as summer camps, outings, sporting events and a variety of classes that include music, yoga, cooking, art and drama. Trunk or treat 

MBPD and MB Neighborhood Watch host “Trunk or Treat” on October 29 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on 13th Street from Valley Dr. to Morningside Dr. Trick or treaters can walk from car to car, each differently themed and including SWAT vehicles and squad cars. 

 

Halloween Carnival 

The City of Manhattan Beach’s rec department hosts the 33rd Annual Family Halloween Carnival at Manhattan Heights Park from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. October 30. The event features carnival  games, a costume contest and parade, face painting, and more. ER
