PA State Police Confiscate $25 Million In Pot, Illegal Drugs

PENNSYLVANIA — Pennsylvania State Police confiscated more than $25 million in illegal drugs during enforcement in the third quarter of 2021, they announced recently, and no drug came to close in dollar value to marijuana.

Various types of marijuana comprised more than $10 million of the state police's confiscated inventory from July 1 to Sept. 30, statistics show, even as efforts to legalize recreational marijuana are introduced into the Pennsylvania state legislature.

Liquid marijuana comprised $5.2 million in seizures, while solid marijuana accounted for $75,400. Processed marijuana was another $4.7 million, and marijuana plants another $83,655.

Cocaine was the next largest confiscation, with 312 pounds of the drug worth $6.8 million taken in.

A total of 785 pounds of prescription drugs and other medication was collected through drug take back boxes scattered around the state.

  • Other narcotics (Pills): 163,695 pills, $4,092,375
  • Fentanyl: 175 pounds, $2.8 million
  • Methamphetamines: 71 pounds, $710,500
  • Heroin: 9.9 pounds, $336,600
  • Crack cocaine: 2.18 pounds, $34,800
  • Other narcotics: 11.82 pounds, $23,640
  • MDMA – Pills: 738 pills, $11,070
  • LSD: 125 doses, $2,500
  • MDMA – Ecstasy: 0.75 pounds, $2,475
