Congressman Matt Gaetz paid dues and late fees Friday morning necessary to get himself reinstated to good standing with the Florida Bar.

He also filled out a required reinstatement petition that allowed him to again be eligible  to practice law in the state.

According to the member profile that appeared on the Florida Bar website as late as Oct. 21, Gaetz was considered delinquent for having failed to pay $465 in bar fees that were due in August.

By midday Friday, after news of his delinquent status broke, however, his profile changed to "good standing."

A Florida Bar spokeswoman said Gaetz's status was revised as of 12:27 p.m. Eastern time.

An official at the Florida Bar confirmed earlier this week that Gaetz would be required to pay his dues and late fees and file a petition to be reinstated to practice law.

Gaetz, R-Fort Walton Beach, is serving his third two-year term representing Florida's First Congressional District. He is up for re-election in 2022.

His most recent term has been marred by reports that federal authorities are investigating his ties to former Seminole County Tax Collector Joel Greenberg and allegations that he might have been involved in underage sex trafficking and public corruption.

Greenberg plea:Now that Joel Greenberg has pleaded guilty to sex trafficking, what's going to happen to Matt Gaetz?

Greenberg has pleaded guilty to federal charges. Earlier this month, a judge extended Greenberg's sentencing due to his ongoing cooperation with federal prosecutors.

Additionally, the New York Times recently reported that the Department of Justice had hired two top prosecutors to the team looking at the Gaetz case.

Reports have also surfaced stating that for the last quarter Gaetz's campaign committee, Friends of Matt Gaetz, had spent more money than it had taken in. Finance reports show him having taken in less than $500,000 while ringing up $613,000 in expenses.
