WPXI-TV Reporter Departs Station

The reporter soon will surface in another city.

PITTSBURGH, PA — WPXI-TV reporter Michele Newell is leaving town. After three years, the Pittsburgh native is headed to WSB-TV in Atlanta, a WPXI sister station; both are owned by the Atlanta based Cox Media Group.

Her last day at WPXI is Friday, the New Pittsburgh Courier reported.

According to her page on the WPXI website, Newell previously worked as a multimedia journalist in Columbus and in Steubenville. She also was a producer at KDKA radio and a writer for KDKA-TV.

Newell has a mass communications degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
