WINCHESTER, Ind. — Five people were injured Thursday in a two-vehicle crash in northeastern Randolph County.

According to Ken Hendrickson, chief deputy for the Randolph County Sheriff's Department, the traffic accident was reported about 2:35 p.m. on Randolph County Road 400-E, south of County Road 700-N.

Hendrickson said a 2007 Chevrolet Impala driven by Ranatta Gray, 39, of Union City, Ohio, was southbound when it crossed the center line and collided with a northbound 2017 Ford Edge driven by Deborah Smiley, 47, of Ridgeville.

Gray and a 10-year-old passenger in her vehicle were flown by medical helicopter to a Fort Wayne hospital, where they were treated for broken legs.

Two other children in her vehicle, ages 9 and 10, were taken to Reid Hospital in Richmond for evaluation.
