RENO, Nev. (KRNV) — One person is dead and another is hurt after an early morning crash in Reno Friday.
Police responded to the intersection of Lakeside Drive and McCarran just after 1 a.m. on October 22 on the report of a crash involving two cars.
One of the drivers was thrown from the car and taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The passenger from the same car died on scene. Police said the driver from the second car was not hurt and is cooperating with the investigation.
Officers believe that speed, alcohol and a red light violation contributed to the crash. No arrests have been made pending a complete investigation.
The roadway reopened around 7 a.m.
