A man was arrested after he fired shots into occupied vehicles on Thursday night, according to police.

Chatham County Police officers were called to Bethesda Academy on Ferguson Avenue shortly after 7 pm for reports of shots fired. When they arrived, they spoke with a victim on the scene and then heard gunshots.

Officers were able to locate Ike Jost, 33, and take him into custody. Police charged Jost with six counts of aggravated assault, third-degree cruelty to children, criminal damage to property, criminal trespass, and carrying weapons within School Safety Zones.

While no one was shot during the incident, one person did suffer cuts from broken glass during the incident.

According to police officials, they believe this was a random incident.

Detectives do not believe Jost has ties to Bethesda Academy or anyone who was on the property at the time of the incident.
