When Enfield Fire District No. 1 arrived, firefighters reported heavy fire showing from the building's left side, according to Guilfoil PR. First responders had the fire under control within 25 minutes.

All five Enfield fire departments provided mutual aid, Zarcaro said, and the scene was cleared by around 7:15 a.m.

The building was deemed uninhabitable. Its nine residents have been displaced, and Enfield Housing Authority will relocate them within a week, Zarcaro said.

The Fire Marshal is investigating the incident.
