Stay-in-place order lifted at Brockton High School, student facing charges over Snapchat photo

BROCKTON, Mass. — A stay-in-place order was issued at Brockton High School after a “concerning video” was brought to the attention of the school’s administration.

Brockton Public Schools announced on Twitter that the stay-in-place order was issued so that administrators were able to investigate the video.

Schools officials told Boston 25 News they were first alerted to a Snapchat photo that depicted a magazine clip in a student’s waistband. Shortly after, the student was pulled from class. He admitted the photo was taken in September, but he didn’t post it until Friday morning.

Brockton Public Schools added that the student will be facing criminal charges and school disciplinary procedures. Classes will resume as scheduled for the day.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
