UNION, OHIO (Dayton Business Journal) A new spec building near the Dayton International Airport could measure over one million square feet, the developer behind the project says. This would add to what is already a bevy of new development near the airport, and could create numerous jobs.
Johan Henriksen, a partner at Panattoni Development Company’s northeast division, told the Dayton Business Journal the plan is to construct an initial, 525,000-square-foot building that would be expandable to approximately 1.2 million square feet. He said another option would be to construct two buildings with the same square footage, though that will be dependent on tenant needs.
This project comes after a limited partnership called CH Realty IX JV I Dayton Logistics West LP bought over 80 acres at 2117 Old Springfield Road for $2.2 million. The mailing address is listed in Vandalia; however, the parcels are technically located in the city of Union.
The project officially began on Oct. 1, and Henriksen said construction will take about eight months from start to finish.
Though the project is months away from completion, Panattoni Development has already started having conversations with potential tenants.
