Man struck by VIA LINK van while crossing the street

SAN ANTONIO - A man was struck by a VIA LINK van Thursday night on the Northeast side of San Antonio.

It happened around 8:40 p.m. on Nacogdoches Rd at Longfellow Blvd. According to the police sergeant on the scene, the van was traveling southeast on Nacogdoches with one passenger inside when it struck the man who was attempting to cross the road.

The victim, who was unconscious, was taken to BAMC with life-threatening injuries. Neither the driver of the van or the passenger were injured in the accident. The driver is not facing any charges at this time.

The southbound lanes of Nacogdoches were closed while police investigated the accident.
