One dead after crash on I-240 and Santa Fe

UPDATE - Police say the surviving suspect from the armed robbery/fatality crash is 51-year-old Michael J. Milton. He has been booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on robbery charges.

OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) - One person is dead and one person is hospitalized after an early morning crash in Oklahoma City.

This happened early this morning near westbound I-240 and Santa Fe.

Oklahoma City police say this started as a robbery at the 7-11 on the service road near Walker and I-240.

The suspect took off and drove into the eastbound lane of I-240 before hitting an SUV head-on.

Police say the driver of suspect vehicle is dead and a passenger in the vehicle was sent to the hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay.

An investigation is underway.
