STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- A series of closures are coming to the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge this weekend amid construction on the span.

Beginning on Friday, Oct. 22, from 11 p.m. through 7 a.m. Saturday morning, Oct. 23, the Staten Island-bound upper level and the Brooklyn-bound lower level will be fully closed, the MTA said.

There will also be several lane closures on the lower level in both directions beginning at 11 p.m. on Friday and continuing through 2 p.m. on Saturday, as the Staten Island-bound lower level is expected to have some lane closures during the span.

Then, on Saturday night from 11 p.m. through Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m., there will be lane closures in both directions on the bridge’s lower level with a full closure of the Staten Island-bound lower level from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., according to the MTA.

The MTA advises motorists to allocate additional travel time during the closures or to consider another route.
