Painting the town pink tonight, 50’s style, all to help raise money for a good cause.

“I come from a long line of warriors in my family who have been diagnosed,” said Pink Power Founder Denise Gilliland.

Five hundred people flooded PeoplesBank Park in York tonight for the 5th anniversary of Pink Power. Food, drinks, live music and an auction helped to raise money for breast cancer research. While the “Grease” themed party was fun, it served a bigger purpose.

“This is my way of using my life as an opportunity to give back and help local breast cancer patients in need,” Gilliland said.

In the first four years, Pink Power has raised nearly $350,000 for four local cancer organizations. Tonight’s event will add to that total, hopefully garnering another $150,000.
