Bling

Last month, a Mebane couple’s Bulldog disappeared outside of their home. Now, they’re asking anyone who may have seen or picked up the dog to please return her to them, offering a handsome reward to whoever does so.

On September 15, Pat and Don Butcher’s dogs were outside their home off NC 119 in Mebane. Bling, the missing dog, took off down their driveway. So, Pat hopped in her car to go grab her.

When she arrived at the spot she’d seen Bling just moments before, the dog was gone. The Butchers have not seen her since.

Pat Butcher isn’t exactly sure what happened. “We don't really know that she was stolen or what. I think somebody picked her up, but I don't have any proof of it,” she said.

Butcher said it is very unlike Bling to run away, and that she’d never done it before. The couple views the dog as one of their children and Pat called the loss “sickening.”

The couple has received one call in reference to Bling, from a woman who thought she’d spotted Bling somewhere.

“She called me and told me that she's seen her,” Pat Butcher said. “There’s been several things she said, she described her to a T, I mean just exactly like her and talking about how Bulldogs were always big, but ours was so little, but she didn't get her because she was on her way somewhere and she didn't want to be late.”

Butcher said she’s tried to follow up with the woman on multiple occasions, but to no avail. They have received no other calls in reference to Bling.

Bling is spayed and microchipped, but that hasn’t helped in locating her. The Butchers have put fliers across town and near their driveway.

For the Butchers, it’s imperative that they get Bling back as soon as possible, as the dog requires daily medication – which she hasn’t had for over four weeks now.

Pat Butcher said they will take Bling back from whoever may have her and pay them a reward, no questions asked. Anyone with information on the dog’s whereabouts is asked to reach out to Pat at 336-578-5772.

If someone does happen to have Bling in their possession, or if they come across the dog, they are asked to either return her to the Butchers at 2904 North NC 119 in Mebane, NC or to the Creekside Animal Clinic, located at 626 North First St. in Mebane.
