JSO: Innocent bystander struck by bullet meant for another woman at Woodland Acres apartments

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — 11:30 p.m. UPDATE:

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said two women were in a fight when one of them tried to shoot the other and missed the intended victim. The bullet instead struck another woman, an innocent bystander.

The victim checked themselves into the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The incident happened at 8201 Kona Avenue in the Woodland Acres neighborhood.

JSO said the intended victim is cooperating with the police, but there is no suspect information at this time.
