Wind bringing trees and power lines down across the Northwest

Gusts of wind have wreaked havoc across the Pacific Northwest on Thursday, bringing power lines and trees down around the area.

With a strong low pressure offshore, winds are being drawn out of the Cascades and these gap winds gusting over 30 m.p.h. are causing some minor issues with trees down and power outages mainly nearer and in the foothills – pretty typical when we get our first storms of the season.

In Redmond there was a down tree over wires across Avondale Road Northeast near Northeast 133rd Street, just east of State Route 202.

The tree was removed just before 5 p.m.

In Shoreline, multiple power poles were down between 177th and 178th Northeast.

Power lines landed on a vehicle and trapped two people inside.

There were no reported injuries.

In Monroe, a tree was down on Woods Creek Road just after 4 p.m.

Tonight, winds will calm down, though at the coast it remains breezy.
