Morning, Birmingham! Michael Seale here. It's nice to be back at work after a short time off. Let's get you all caught up to start this day off on an informed note. Yesterday was a huge day for UAB athletics. After being a member of Conference USA since 1995, the school announced Thursday it will join the American Athletic Conference. This was speculated for weeks, and Patch reported a few days ago that UAB had submitted an application to join the AAC. But it is now official. Read more about it below, as well as some cool news about the Magic City Classic.

  1. Not that this was a huge secret, but as I discussed above, this is big news. UAB announced Thursday it will leave Conference USA and join the American Athletic Conference. (Birmingham Patch)
