Arlington College Students Achieve Honors At Their Schools

Many Arlington students have just started their freshman year at college, while others have earned academic honors from their schools.

ARLINGTON, VA — Many college students from Arlington have returned to their respective schools for the start of the fall 2021 academic semester. But some students spent the spring and summer studying on campus and have already distinguished themselves academically.

Gina DeLancey of Arlington was among the nearly 1,100 cadets and students recognized for their academic achievements during the spring 2021 semester at The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. The be named to the dean's list, students and cadets who are registered in 12 or more semester hours earn a 3.20 or higher with no grade of incomplete or under C for the semester.

David D'lima of Arlington received a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. D'lima was one of the 1,480 undergraduate and graduate students to receive their degree a the conclusion of the summer 2021 semester.

Scott Roman of Arlington Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering rom the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. Roman was one of the 1,480 undergraduate and graduate students to receive their degree a the conclusion of the summer 2021 semester.

The following students from Arlington made the Dean's List for the summer term at University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC): Jamie Arzola, Louis Ojeda, Landon Coutros, Jose Melendrez, Oakley Tunney, and Anthony Monaro. A student must have completed at least six credit during the semester and earned a grade point average of 3.5 fo the term and a cumulative GPA of 3.5 to be named to the Dean's List.

James Madison University in Harrisonburg welcomed the following students from Arlington earlier this month as freshman: Rafael Gould-Schultz, Christopher Black, Ju Lin, Mattie Schwendeman and Ian Moran.

Apple Gould-Schultz of Arlington was named to first honors on the Dean's List for the spring 2021 semester at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. To be named to the Dean's List, students must have a GPA of 3.8 or above for first honors.

Anna Secrest of Arlington recently matriculated as a first-year student at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. Secrest, a graduate of Washington Lee High School, was selected from a pool of 9,380 applicants to the college, and joins a class of 533.

Christopher Jennings of Arlington recently joined the Class of 2025 at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
