TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Terre Haute Police Department recently moved into its new headquarters. Now one company is proposing a new use for the old property.

WDG Construction presented a plan to the Terre Haute Redevelopment Commission to build housing on the property. The company is hoping land would be contributed to the $7.5 to $8 million project.

WDG says construction would start in March 2022, with a completion date in June 2023. The units would be mostly targeted toward students, but could house non-students who qualify as residents.

The Redevelopment Commission will consider the proposal further at its next meeting.
