Interstate 64 lane closures announced near Milton

One lane in both the eastbound and westbound directions of Interstate 64 just east of Milton will be periodically closed to traffic beginning Monday, Oct. 25.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions beginning at 6 a.m. about a mile and a half east of the Milton exit while crews repair a bridge deck and expansion joints, according to a news release from the West Virginia Department of Transportation.

The lane closures are expected to last for about a month with a weekly schedule. On Mondays, the lanes will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The lanes will close again from 9 a.m. on Tuesday to 3 p.m. on Thursday. On Fridays, the lanes will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Drivers are advised to expect the lane closures and to adjust their commuting schedules.
