This month, the city has been packed with things to do.

Our bustling arts scene is back in action this fall, from poetry readings at the Menil Collection to The Houston Grand Opera's rendition of Carmen. Not to mention live music is back in play; enjoy a free concert at Evelyn's Park Conservancy in Bellaire, or reminisce on the Y2K era at The Millenium Tour.

Friday Night Music at Evelyn's Park

Bask in the fall breeze and enjoy the sounds of Nick Serena at Betsy's at Evelyn's Park Conservancy. The concert is completely free to the public.

Houston's Grand Opera Presents Carmen

Georges Bizet's Carmen makes its way to Houston via the Houston Grand Opera. The four-act opera is set in Seville and deals with the love and jealousy of the main character, Don José. 

Houston Grand Opera at the Wortham Center, 501 Texas Street. Friday, October 22 at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, October 24 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets start at $25. For more information, visit the website.

Ariana Reines Poetry Reading

Join the Menil Collection this weekend for an intimate reading from renowned author and poet, Ariana Reines. Reines will read her most recent work, Inside the Empress (2021), and a selection from her poetry collections, including A Sand Book (2019).

Monster Jam

Houston has always been a city enamored by car culture, and enthusiasts can celebrate this weekend at Monster Jam. Hosted at NRG Stadium, fans can witness full-throttle actions, as monster trucks contend in speed and skill.

The Millennium Tour 

Get a blast from the past this weekend as The Millennium Tour makes a stop in Houston. Enjoy the sounds of early 2000s hip-hop and R&B from the likes of Omarion, Ashanti, Bow Wow, and more.
