TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — An organization at Vincennes University known as “Generations” received $18,000 in a grant from the Internal Revenue Service.
“Generations” is an Area 13 Agency on Aging and Disability. The organization is known for providing service to the elderly.
They were one of the eight recipients to receive grant money from the IRS. All of the funds received from the grant will provide free tax return preparation for Hoosiers.
“We offer older adults and individuals with disabilities and caregiver options for better quality of life,” program coordinator Linda Yochum said. “It’s very impactful. It saves a lot of money for people that would have to go pay to have their taxes done.”
The grant will provide assistance for those 60 years of age and older.
