GPD asks for public’s help to solve murder

Garland Police are seeking the public’s assistance in an unsolved 4-year-old murder. On Oct. 20, 2017, shortly before 1:30 a.m., the Garland Police Department responded to the report that someone had been shot in the 900 block of East Linda Drive.  When officers arrived, they found a female in the front yard of her residence suffering from a gunshot wound. The female, 20-year-old Jocelyn Sarabia-Marlon, was transported to Baylor of Dallas where she was later pronounced deceased.

Detectives recovered video surveillance from a residence that showed two unknown males and a small four-door passenger car near the scene of the murder. One male is described as wearing dark-colored pants and a long-sleeved shirt with a reflective sleeve. The other suspect was wearing a dark-colored hoodie and light-colored shorts.

A reward of up to $5,000 has been offered by Garland Crimes Stoppers for information leading to an arrest or grand jury indictment.
