West Virginia State Police are investigating after multiple incidents at North Central Regional Jail resulted in the death of one inmate and the hospitalization of another.

Anthony Richard Jones, 35, of Clarksburg was killed during two incidents on Tuesday that are believed to have involved several inmates, according to a State Police news release. William Bolton Adams III, 50, of Ritchie County was seriously wounded during the incidents.

A spokesperson for West Virginia State Police said Jones' death is being investigated as a homicide while Adams' injury is being treated as malicious wounding.

A second death occurred at the jail on the same day, but State Police said that death appears to be self-inflicted and unrelated to the other two incidents. No foul play is expected.

All three incidents are considered active and ongoing investigations. No charges have been filed at this time.
