Two Former Philadelphia Police Officers Have Joined The Upper Dublin Police Department

Akhmat Muk and Devon Petaccio, both former Philadelphia cops, are the newest members of the Upper Dublin Police Department.

UPPER DUBLIN, PA — Two new police officers have been hired in Upper Dublin.

Joining the suburban, 40-member force are Officers Akhmat Muk and Devon Petaccio, both of whom were sworn in during last week's meeting of the Upper Dublin Board of Commissioners.

Both hires couldn't have more different backgrounds, although they will now have each others' backs as they patrol the township.

Muk is a native of Uzbekistan and came to the United States in 2002, becoming a naturalized citizen six years later, according to a bio provided by the police department.

He is fluent in Uzbek, English and Russian, and can speak conversationally in Spanish.

Muk is a 2008 graduate of Brooklyn College where he studied chemistry. He worked as a Philadelphia police officer since the fall of 2016.

Petaccio is a Delaware County native who has been a Philadelphia police officer since 2018. She has a communications degree from West Chester University and she is currently pursing a Master's Degree in public policy administration from the same college.
