An Oak Hill man is facing felony charges in Fayette County, according to Fayette County Sheriff Mike Fridley.
On Aug. 20, the Oak Hill Police Department responded to a health and welfare check for an individual on McClain St. In Oak Hill. Upon arrival, officers observed flames and smoke coming from a window of the residence. Fire personnel arrived to extinguish the fire and suspected the cause of the fire to be arson. At that time, the Detective Bureau of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department was contacted to investigate the incident.
Bryson Webb Burdette-Hughes, 21, of Oak Hill, was arrested on Oct. 15 for the felony offense of first degree arson. Burdette-Hughes was arraigned in Fayette County Magistrate Court and posted a $40,000 bond.
