NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — State Police are still looking for a suspect after a man was shot in the leg on I-91 north in New Haven Wednesday night.

When responding officers arrived on the scene, the driver of a vehicle was suffering from gunshot wounds. EMS transported the victim to Yale-New Haven Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg.

During the investigation, the driver of the vehicle explained to investigators that they had been shot by an individual in a black vehicle.

The investigation caused delays on I-91 north between Exits 2 and 3.

“Troopers have spoken with any witnesses and the victim. Hopefully, they are able to glean some information on who the shooter or shooters might be,” said State Police Sgt. Christine Jeltema.
