There is still time to enjoy the weeklong culinary celebration organized by the Shreveport-Bossier African American Chamber of Commerce, which runs through Saturday. Shreveport-Bossier Black Restaurant Week is available at $10 for the lunch specials and $20 for the dinner specials at participating, Black-owned restaurants in Shreveport-Bossier.

The event aims to highlight chefs, food truck events, festivals, caterers, and libations. Some of the community’s new and emerging chefs and long-established restaurateurs will get to showcase their culinary skills.

Neima Longstratt's has a new food truck that features West African cuisine named RNL Authentic's Cookery Corner.

The event is viewed as an opportunity for Black-owned restaurants and food related businesses to offer dining deals and curated experiences to bring in new customers and raise awareness of their businesses. It aims to help in supporting Black-owned restaurants which they think play a crucial role in achieving socio-economic upliftment that will benefit the entire community.

Reservations are not required but some will require advanced purchase. In addition to the specials, there are several events planned. Go to shreveportblackrestaurantweek.com to learn more.
