Tennessee Gas Prices increase once again

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn (WDEF) – Chattanooga gas prices have risen once again.

According to AAA, Chattanooga is currently the 4th most expensive metro in the state with a metro average of $3.13.

That average is 16 cents more expensive than one week ago, 31 cents more expensive than one month ago, and $1.28 more expensive than one year ago.

Officials say the rise in crude oil prices is partially to blame for the increase in price along with increased travelers.

“Short Term It’s not very likely that we will see any relief at the pump anytime soon just because of those higher crude oil prices. It does take some time for the market to react, level out then stabilize after we see such a big increase in crude oil prices,” says Megan Cooper, AAA Spokesperson.

If you are trying to save some money at the pump try driving more carefully and avoiding sudden stops or quick accelerations.
