HARRISBURG, PA — The coronavirus pandemic has put a damper on Red Cross blood donations at a time when the country needs to significantly boost its blood supply.

The donation supply for certain blood types dwindled to less than a day's supply in recent weeks, according to the Red Cross.

Fall is typically a time when the Red Cross and other blood donation organizations replenish the country's blood supply.
