SYRACUSE N.Y. — CNYCentral and Upstate Cancer Center are teaming up to host its annual "Call In For Cancer" fundraiser Thursday, Oct. 21, in Syracuse.
CNY Central's Brandon Roth and Megan Coleman will be live at Upstate Cancer Center from 5 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on NBC3 and CBS5, sharing survivor stories and discussing cancer treatment innovations with local doctors.
Donations will help provide treatments and support to thousands of our Central New York neighbors fighting cancer.
According to Upstate, the Cancer Center is the region’s most comprehensive cancer care center, serving patients throughout our surrounding 17 counties with offices in Oneida, Oswego, Auburn, Binghamton, Cortland and the Mohawk Valley. It offers the most advanced outpatient treatment, clinical research studies, and supports services.
Last year the event raised more than $46,000 to help Upstate cancer patients.
Upstate Cancer Center encourages everyone to donate year-round to support patients in their treatment and for their time afterward as well.
Support services are key to survival rates, according to Upstate.
Donations are also needed to fund cancer research efforts, according to Dick Kilburg, Upstate Cancer Center associate administrator.
