ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A teenager is dead after a shooting on Rochester’s northeast side Wednesday.

Police say officers responded to Lamont Place for the report of a shooting around 7:30 a.m.

Once on scene, officers found Christian Santiago, 19, with a gunshot wound to his upper body.

Santiago was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

Investigators say they believe Santiago and the suspect got into an argument before the shooting.

They say they do not believe there is any further threat to the community stemming from this incident.

No suspects are in custody. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.

It was the city’s 64 homicide of the year so far, as Rochester is on pace for its deadliest year in history.
