Downtown South Bend trick or treating and costume contest October 29

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Downtown South Bend is hosting the fifth annual Downtown Trick or Treating & Costume Contest on October 29 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Businesses will participate in trick or treating downtown from 5 to 7 p.m.

Some of this year’s participants include Bruno’s Pizza, Chicory Café, the St. Joseph County Public Library, and more.

A Treat Stop map will be coming soon listing all businesses.

Local nonprofits will also be passing out candy on the Gridiron.

Costume contest registration begins on the Gridiron at 7 p.m. followed by the contest itself from 7:30 to 8 p.m.

Registration is required to participate in the costume contest.

Entries are limited to the first 10 participants in each of the following age groups: 4 & under, 5-8, 9-15, and 16 & over. A fifth category will be available for group costumes.

Guests can also enjoy a fall photo op by the DTSB offices.

Football Fridays will also take place on the Gridiron on October 29 from 6 to 10 p.m.

The free community tailgate will have yard games, food and drinks for purchase, and live music.
