Staff report
The Biscuit Bar opens Friday at Allen Ridge shopping center, north of Abilene Christian University.

The Biscuit Bar, a fast casual restaurant started in 2018 in the Dallas suburb of Plano, opens at 8 a.m. Friday in Abilene at 2447 N. Judge Ely Blvd. in the Allen Ridge shopping center.

It is the restaurant's sixth location and the first in West Texas. The others are in the Fort Worth-Dallas area, according to a news release.

As the name implies, biscuit sandwiches are the foundation of the breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. Potato tots – regular and sweet potato – topped with various ingredients and alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks round out the menu. And, for the carb-conscious, salads are available.

The menu reflects the meals that were a staple of owner Janie Burkett's family kitchen, the release said.

The Biscuit Bar will be open 8 a.m. to midnight Mondays through Saturdays, and 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays.
