The Lancaster County Sheriff’s office responded to two combine fires that occurred Monday afternoon.

The sheriff’s office said they responded to the first fire at 2:50 p.m. at 148th Road and Martel Road after a Gleaner worth $300,000 caught fire. Bennet Fire and Rescue arrived on scene and deemed the combine a total loss.

Deputies responded to a second fire Monday afternoon at 176th Road and Waverly Road after a John Deere worth $100,000 caught fire. The cause was an engine catching on fire.

The sheriff’s office said the fires were a equipment and/or user issue and is not believe to be arson-related.
