Houston cult favorite Blood Bros. BBQ, known for its rotating menu of fusion barbecue plates, like their supple brisket and guava glazed pork ribs, is in the national spotlight once again. The local barbecue spot made the New York Times Top 50 Restaurants editors are most excited to dine at this year. The Bellaire outpost is the only Houston area restaurant to make the list.

Blood Bros. BBQ was included in the top 50, for its innovative twist on modern barbecue, created by chef Quy Hoang, Houston's first Vietnamese-American pitmaster, and his brothers. The restaurant reimagines Texas-style barbecue with influences from all over, including Vietnamese, Thai, Mexican, and Chinese, as the three brothers were raised in Chinatown. The mention of the strip mall favorite highlights their praised fusion dishes, such as the smoked chicken karaage, char siu pork banh mi, and the Thai green curry boudin balls.

The restaurant, filled with fragrant meats that make your mouth water, has come a long way since its early beginnings as a pop-up. Their brick-and-mortar location opened in 2017. Since its founding, the restaurant has received national acclaim, being featured in Bon Appétit, Food & Wine, and Texas Monthly

The New York Times' list一which is ranked in no particular order一features 50 of the most vibrant and delicious restaurants in America this year. According to the article, the diverse tastes "reflect the rich mosaic of American dining."

Blood Bros. BBQ is located at 5425 Bellaire Blvd.
