Gas Prices Continue to Climb

(Undated) – The price at the pump continues its climb, reaching some of the highest levels in nearly a decade. According to GasBuddy Head of Petroleum Analysis, Patrick DeHaan, with OPEC holding back oil production and strong global oil demand, the situation will lead to even higher gas prices in the weeks ahead. DeHaan says there are several issues at play here including supply chains problems as well as low global inventories of oil, natural gas, and coal. Until there is a break in those issues, DeHaan says we will be stuck feeling the pinch of rising oil and gasoline prices. He says the bad news is that for now, the upward trend at the pump will continue into the weeks ahead with no sign of relief. The current national average is at $3.33 a gallon. It’s $3.42 in Illinois and $3.35 in Indiana.
