You may remember just before the pandemic began, there were some big name actors filming a movie here in Buffalo.  The trailer is out and it literally looks like a nightmare.

It was big news to hear that Guillermo Del Toro was bringing a crew to Buffalo to shoot a movie starring Bradley Cooper and a long list of other stars.  It's called Nightmare Alley and it appears as though the name is very fitting for the movie.

It's a movie based on the novel by William Lindsay Gresham about a very persuasive carnival owner who hooks up with a female psychiatrist and evidently, she is even more dangerous than he is.  The teaser trailer is out now!

The list of actors in this is huge including Cate Blanchett, Toni Collette, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins, Rooney Mara, Ron Perlman, and more!

You may remember when they were in town there were multiple closures around city hall and other local landmarks that we had to be aware of daily.  There were vintage cars that lined the streets and people were running downtown to see if they could get a glimpse of them (and Bradley Cooper).

Filming didn't go quite as planned though for the crew.  You would have thought that a movie being filmed in Buffalo in late February and early March would be easy to film a snowy scene in.  Nope...they had to bring in their own snow (and even use fake snow) to get the shots they wanted.

We will have just a couple more months to wait.  The new movie will be coming out in December.

It was exciting to go and see "A Quiet Place 2" knowing how many scenes were filmed here.  I'll go and see this one too just for that reason.  But if I'm being honest...it looks like they did a really good job making the movie match the title.  It looks like what you see in nightmares for sure.
