Order up! Morning Squeeze joins downtown Phoenix landscape

PHOENIX – Breakfast-lunch chain Morning Squeeze toasted the opening of a third spot Friday, adding another daytime dining option in downtown Phoenix.

The new location at First and Washington streets will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features a wraparound patio, a grab-and-go area and an indoor-outdoor bar in 3,400 square feet.

“Morning Squeeze is a neighborhood spot first and foremost, so we really listened to what the downtown community wanted and needed to start their days,” company spokesperson Shea Neill said in a press release.

Valley artist Jayarr Steiner created a mural and light fixtures for the place and its bright 1970s theme.

The menu boasts breakfast staples including coffee; biscuit and gravy; chicken and waffles; brunch pickings such as the Hangover Bowl and a blackened salmon salad; and cocktails.

There’s even a menu for dogs, who are welcome on the patios at all three Morning Squeeze locations.

The Phoenix site is the third for the company, which opened the inaugural restaurant in Scottsdale near Third Avenue and Scottsdale Road in 2013.

The group followed up in 2018 with a restaurant in Tempe near Seventh Street and Mill Avenue.
