1 injured, 1 arrested following shooting in downtown Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) -- A shooting that happened overnight in downtown Detroit left one person injured and another in police custody.

Authorities say the incident occurred just after 1 a.m. on Friday in the area of East Fort Street and Beaubien Boulevard.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 29-year-old man had been shot.

He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is in stable condition, but he was unable to provide any further details about the situation.

A 24-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident, and police also recovered a gun they believe was used in the shooting.

The investigation by Detroit police is ongoing.
