CULVER CITY, CA — Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik will host "Jeopardy" for the rest of the year, Sony Pictures Entertainment announced Thursday.

"Beginning Monday, September 20, Bialik is hosting several weeks of episodes, which will air through November 5," the show announced via Twitter. "After that, Bialik and Jennings will split hosting duties as their schedules allow through the end of the calendar year."

Bialik is an actress, author, host, and neuroscientist. She is well-known for her award-winning role in the show “The Big Bang Theory.” She was a fan-favorite on the quiz show during her two-week tenure as guest host in May and June 2021.

Jennings auditioned for "Jeopardy!" in 2004, and went on an unprecedented 74-game victory streak worth $2.52 million. He appeared in several special "Jeopardy!" tournaments, including the "Ultimate Tournament of Champions" in 2005, "Jeopardy!: The IBM Challenge in 2011," the "Battle of the Decades in 2014" and "Jeopardy! All-Star Games in 2019."

In 2020, Jennings bested Brad Rutter and James Holzhauer in the ABC special event “Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time.” Later that year, he joined "Jeopardy!" as a consulting producer.

In the new season that aired this week, the show dedicated its stage in Culver City to Alex Trebek, the late host who died from pancreatic cancer in November 2020.

The stage was renamed the Alex Trebek Stage at Sony Pictures studios during the show's taping in August, which aired Monday. Trebek's widow, Jean Trebek, and children also attended the dedication.

The quiz show's new season started this week with five episodes hosted by Mike Richards, the former executive producer of "Jeopardy!" and "Wheel of Fortune." Richards had filmed the episodes before he stepped down as host, then days later was cut from the shows. It happened after inappropriate comments he made on podcasts years ago surfaced. Production for both shows has continued.
