Restaurants and bars throughout the South Bay accommodate diners while also meeting state and LA County Health Department mandates for reducing risks associated with the coronavirus. Brewport now open on Mondays

Brewport Tap House, at 204 Main Street in El Segundo, has expanded its hours of operation to include Mondays from 3 to 9 p.m. Now open 7 days a week with varying hours including Sunday Brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The popular, self-pour beer and wine allows customers to try a variety of brewed and fermented drinks. Urban Plates approaches 10-year milestone

Urban Plates, the fast, casual restaurant offering made-from-scratch meals, is turning 10 years old. To celebrate, the chain is giving away free one-month memberships to Plate Pass, a subscription program that makes every individual entrée $10 (or less) for a fee that is normally $10 a month. The offer will apply to all Urban Plates locations for dine-in or takeout only. SOUTH BAY

Canton Low for Chinese classics — Chinese standards from Canton Low include egg rolls, fried shrimp, “Canton ravioli,” paper-wrapped chicken, fried wontons and barbecued spare ribs — the dish choices are many and also include combination platters. Eddie V’s for fine dining — Eddie V’s, a dining destination known for seafood, hand carved steaks and imaginative cocktails opened at 2101 Rosecrans Ave. in El Segundo. The restaurant offers an ever-changing array of seasonal seafood flown in daily from around the world. The dining room is open seven days a week, with hours Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday from 4 to10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 4 to 11 p.m. Reservations are recommended. El Gringo has four South Bay locations — El Gringo prepares fresh Mexican-inspired favorites and has reopened with patio seating at its restaurants at 2620 Hermosa Avenue, Hermosa Beach, and 422 Main Street in El Segundo. Other South Bay locations are open for take-out, including 921 N. Sepulveda Blvd. in Manhattan Beach and 821 Torrance Blvd. in Torrance. Grimaldi’s “no kid hungry” campaign —Grimaldi’s brick oven pizza restaurants continue their partnership with No Kid Hungry, funding programs that provide meals to children across the country. During September, Grimaldi’s will match guest donations made at participating locations to No Kid Hungry with a bounce back card redeemable on their next visit. Bounce back cards will be gifted in increments of $5 up to a total of $25 per visit. Japonica in two locations — The joy of Japanese and curated sake choices are available to diners in two welcoming locations. Dickey’s BBQ cup for charity — Dickey’s Barbecue Pit introduced a limited-edition, clear cup for purchase at its restaurants nationwide, now until September 27 (dates vary by location). The cup symbolizes the history of giving back to communities through the Dickey Foundation, which focuses on first responders through donations of meals, lifesaving equipment and grants. Ragin Cajun serves creole favorites — The Ragin Cajun at 525 S. Vida Modern Taqueria opening soon — Vida Modern Taqueria will bring modernized Mexican street food to customers in Riviera Village. The Lighthouse for live music—The iconic Lighthouse Cafe, located at 30 Pier Ave. in Hermosa Beach, is open for food and cocktails outdoors on the patio or in the dining room. Patrick Malloy’s has versatile menu — A local favorite, Patrick Malloy’s, has reopened at 50 Pier Plaza in Hermosa Beach with an expanded patio and a spacious indoor dining room.
