THE STUDENT THAT MADE ETH THREAT , WE ARE TOLD, IS NOW IN CUSTODY. SHERIFFS DEPUTIES ARE STILL ON THE SCENE. FIND THEM IS L AONG LINE OF PARENTS WHO STARTED SHOWING UP EARLIER TO PICK UPHEIR T KIDS, BUT WE ARE TOLD THAT LOCKDOWN HAS BEEN LIFTED. A WEAPON WAS NOT FOUND ON CAMPUS AND EVERYONE HERE ATHE T SCHOOL IS SAFE. THE SPOKESPERSON FOR OSCEOLA COUNTY SCHOOLS TELLS US THERE WAS SOME CONFUSION EARLIER THIS MORNING WHEN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED THE SCHOOLOR F AN UNRELATED EVENT WHERE A STUDENT WAS HAVING A MEDICAL EMERGENCY. FIRE CREWS HAVE SINCE LEFT, BUT DEPUTIES ARE STILL HERE AT THE ENTRANCE AND EXIT POINTS OF THE SCHOOL AS WELL AS THROUGHOUT THE PARKING LOT. Lockdown on Liberty High School lifted after no weapon found
Liberty High School was locked down Thursday morning as the Osceola County Sheriffs Department investigates a report of a weapon on campus.An Osceola School District spokesperson told WESH 2 that everyone on campus is safe and that the student is in custody after making a threat to another student. Around 11:30 a.m., the lockdown was lifted because no weapon was found. Officials said some confusion came about when medics were called for a student having a medical emergency — an incident leaders said was unrelated to the weapon investigation.
