A 26-year-old man is dead and a 28-year-old man is in custody after a shooting early Wednesday in Northeast El Paso, police said.

The shooting occurred about 2:45 a.m. in the 8900 block of Robert Drive in the Angel's Triangle neighborhood, police said.

Police said that patrol officers initially responded to call of a shooting possibly stemming from an argument.

Officers arrived to find the 26-year-old man dead from multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

Police learned that the suspected shooter was at a nearby home. After officers ordered the man to exit the home, he walked out and was taken into custody without incident, a police news release stated.

The names of the men and further details have not been disclosed as an investigation by detectives with the Crimes Against Persons Unit and crime-scene investigators continues.

The neighborhood was the scene of a drive-by shooting that wounded a man three weeks ago.
