Restaurant inspections: Palm Beach Italian eateries, among five briefly closed

Five Palm Beach County restaurants were shut down briefly last week after failing state restaurant inspections.

Lake Worth Beach

Tacos La Placita, 6418 Lake Worth Road, Lake Worth Beach, was ordered closed after an inspection Sept. 8.

Inspectors found eight high-priority, nine intermediate and three basic violations.

The high-priority violations included small, flying insects.

The eatery made the necessary corrections and reopened the next day on Sept. 9.

Greenacres

The Food Palace Restaurant And Services, 4622 Jod Road was ordered closed after an inspection Sept. 8 .

Inspectors found four high-priority, two intermediate and five basic violations.

The high-priority violations included live insects.

The restaurant made the necessary corrections and reopened the next day on Sept. 9.

Palm Beach

Al Fresco Restaurant and Bar, 2345 South Ocean Blvd., Palm Beach, was ordered closed after an inspection Sept. 7.

Inspectors found four high-priority, one intermediate and four basic violations.

The high-priority violations included small, flying insects.

The eatery made the necessary corrections are reopened the next day on Sept. 8.

The restaurant said that despite the state report they were never closed. They claim the inspector never ordered them to close and the inspector came back the next day and gave them the all clear. They also stated that in addition to the regular inspections all restaurants undergo, they hire their own personal food safety inspector who comes out regularly. 

Pizza Al Fresco closed after an inspection on Sept. 8 but made the necessary corrections and reopened the next day.

Pizza Al Fresco, 14 Via Mizner, Palm Beach, was ordered closed after an inspection Sept. 8.

Jupiter

The Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Company, 201 N. US 1, Jupiter, was ordered closed after an inspection Sept. 8.

Inspectors found four high-priority, one intermediate and one basic violation.

The high-priority violations included small, flying insects.

The eatery corrected all the violations and reopened the next day on Sept. 9.
