Incredible West Shoes Clermont's reports. It happened just after 9:30 this morning at Massey Ranch Airpark in Edgewater. Yeah, the small experimental plane was landing two people aboard when it slid off the runway into a water filled ditch chopper two was over the scene at the air park in southeast Volusia County. The aircraft overturned after it slid into the ditch, but the two people aboard managed to crawl out even before rescuers arrived. They were not hurt, officials say. When the call first came in, they were told a plane had crashed into a pond. But thankfully that was not the case. Fire crews helped mitigate any hazards on scene and ultimately the plane was removed, unclear the extent of damage to the aircraft. Crews from Edgewater Fire Rescue and neighboring agencies were dispatched to a reported plane crash Tuesday morning at 9:40 a.m., according to officials with the City of Edgewater.There were reports of a small experimental aircraft upside down in a pond, investigators said.Upon arrival, crews found two people had escaped, without injuries, from a plane that had slid off the runway at Massey Ranch Airpark and into a water-filled ditch.Crews were still on the scene Tuesday morning to mitigate any hazards, and the cause of the incident will be under investigation by aviation authorities, officials said.
