EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) – Police have released the name of an Evansville man that died after an early morning shooting on Tuesday.

Police say that 29-year-old Douglas Todd Fulkerson was found with a gunshot wound around 2:30 a.m. in the 1200 block of Marshall Avenue. According to police, he died at the scene.

According to police and a 911 call, 27-year-old Richard Garrett shot Fulkerson.

Investigators obtained a signed search warrant and located narcotics during the search of Garrett’s home. Richard Garrett, along with 32-year-old Patrick Garrett, were arrested on unrelated drug charges. Police say Richard Garrett has not been charged in relation to the shooting at this time.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
