A Valley Center man will be sentenced in November for causing a crash that killed an off-duty Wichita police officer and the officer's son.

James Dalrymple, 39, pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of involuntary manslaughter while driving under the influence in the death of Stacey Woodson, 37, and his son, Braeden, 10, in April 2018.

Prosecutors said Dalrymple pulled his pickup truck in front of Woodson's motorcycle at a Wichita intersection. Court records say Dalrymple had alcohol and drugs in his system at the time of the crash.

Woodson was a 16-year veteran of the Wichita police force.
