Florence Y'alls set for Frontier League playoffs after capturing division championship

The Florence Y'alls clinched the Frontier League West Division on Saturday after their 6-3 win over the Schaumburg Boomers and the Evansville Otters' 2-0 loss to Lake Erie. 

Florence (57-38) owns the Frontier League's top record and has the No. 1 seed in the postseason, which begins on Tuesday, September 14. 

Florence will meet the Boomers in the first round of the postseason. The five-game series begins with two games at Wintrust Field in Schaumburg, Illinois, on Tuesday and Wednesday. Florence will host Game 3 of the first-round series on Friday and the final two games, if necessary, on Saturday and Sunday.

Florence went 4-2 against Schaumburg this season, winning 2-of-3 over the Boomers in three-game sets in August and last week. 

Former Miami Redhawk Chad Sedio leads the Y'alls with a .319 average to go with 15 homers and 69 RBI. He has a team-high 29 doubles and has 11 hits in his last nine games. 

Catcher Trevor Craport leads the Frontier League in RBI (85) and is second in home runs (19). 

On the mound, Jared Cheek is 8-1 with a 2.94 ERA, while right-handed reliever Joe Daugherty has a 2.05 ERA in 35 appearances.
